dvdrip software package provides perl front end for transcode and ffmpeg, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dvdrip
dvdrip is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dvdrip package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dvdrip *
You will get with dvdrip package name, version, architecture and description in a table
